Will Smith Surprised A Retiring Receptionist Whom He Met 30 Years Ago When He Was Just Started His Career – VIDEO


Will Smith is never too busy to visit a friend. The 51-year-old actor took on Instagram to show a clip as he dropped by a going-away gathering for Anita Scipio, a receptionist at IHeartRadio who he initially crossed paths within 1990.’My favorite moments on the road are the ones where I can connect with people like at anitascipio,’ said the Philadelphia-born entertainer, who first met Scipio in his first year of doing The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

‘I met her at the front desk before one of the VERY FIRST interviews of my career… and yesterday I was lucky enough to see her off into retirement 30 years later,’ Smith said. ‘She said I made her day. Y’all… she made MINE.’Smith had a light-hearted message for his friend, saying, ‘Enjoy yourself Mama and keep spreading that love & light wherever you go!’

Scipio shared another clip of the encounter on her Instagram account, writing, ‘Stuntin’ 4 Da ‘Gram w/ the Fresh Prince! Reunited & It Feels So Good! at willsmith #sweetheart.’ In the clip, the father-of-three – to Jaden, 21, and Willow, 19, with wife Jada Pinkett Smith, 48; and Trey, 27, with ex Sheree Zampino, 52 – wore a black jacket with shoulder straps over a white top with black pants and a maroon scarf.

He shared a hug with the affable Scipio, who recalled the last time they crossed paths.’ I’m retiring sweetheart, yeah, my God! Will, I met you like 30 years ago when you were at Westwood One,’ she said. ‘You came in, you were just getting started and I met you then for the first time and now to have you back again – it’s a full circle!’God, I love you, you’re amazing … oh my goodness, you’ve made my day sweetheart!’

Smith responded, ‘You’re gonna enter your retirement, go out there and you make sure you have some fun.’ Scipio said, ‘I’m gonna have some fun, full of love and happiness for the rest of my life – that’s what I believe in. God bless you darling and your beautiful family.’ Next up for Smith is the sequel Bad Boys for Life, as he again joins forces alongside Martin Lawrence for another installment in the crime series. It hits theaters on January 17.
