A woman whose husband makes fun of her shopping habits had the last laugh when he commissioned a birthday cake for her that looked like a replica of an Amazon Prime package. Mom-of-three Emily McGuire shared an image of the delicious dessert to Facebook, proving just how well Mac, her husband of 11 years, knows her.
The photo quickly went viral, as people were impressed at the exact likeness of the chocolate cake to Amazon’s signature brown cardboard box with black and blue branded labeling. The Sanford, North Carolina-based shopper told Popsugar that she ‘just laughed’ when her husband Waylon ‘Mac’ McGuire came through the door with the tongue-in-cheek treat.
‘It was super funny because he makes fun of me for all the Amazon boxes we get,’ Emily said.
The impressive cake was whi-pped up by Sweet Dreams Bakery in the nearby town of Dunn, North Carolina, in time for the birthday celebrations on July 19.
The professional photographer and mom-of-three showcased the cake on social media.Commentors couldn’t get over the likeness, from the packaging label sent from ‘Amazon Fulfillment Center c/o Inspirational Grounds and Sweet Dreams Bakery’, to the disti-nctive branded tape. With no details forgotten, the cake was even addressed to ‘1234 Birthday Lane, Happy Birthday 2U’.
‘As soon as I saw the cake, I was like, ‘He gets me,” Emily told NBC’s Today. ‘I felt so understood!’The avid shopper said she pops a product – be it fashion or home ware – into her cart up to three times a week.
‘I just ordered a ma-xi dress and a watermelon slicer. If I need something, I look on Amazon first,’ Emily said, adding that her military husband ‘just laughs at this point.’The family-ran bakery added that they have been inu-ndated with requests for similar cakes after it went viral.
Emily joked that with her husband’s birthday coming up next May, she has ‘some time to plan’ an equally-personalized cake.
